Our NSW Graduates recently visited two crane and equipment hire organisations, Marr Contracting and Coates Hire. With this month’s graduate outing focused on work health and safety procedures, as well as policies of our subcontractors, both companies proved very insightful.
Marr Project Manager Mark Casey welcomed Grads to the Sefton yard, providing a comprehensive site tour. Our Grads were walked through each safety and maintenance procedure taking place prior to the erection of the crane, upon dismantle, regular site maintenance, and emergency service calls. Each procedure is specialised to suit the dozens of cranes carried in their fleet. The group viewed cranes ranging from the world’s smallest, the tiny Favelle Favco M40R, to the world’s biggest, the Favelle Favco M2480D.
Our grads then went on to visit Coates Hire in Moorebank, where they received a presentation from Aubrey Hopley on the company’s Silver Service Maintenance regime. Coates have more than 11,000 assets nationwide, ranging from earthmoving machines to basic tools and equipment.
Probuild Grads said the site visits were a great experience and opportunity to engage with our subcontractors, and to further study the techniques and practices involved in their work. Many thanks to Marr Contracting and Coates hire for hosting the visits.
