Probuild will play an even more influential role in shaping Melbourne's skyline after being appointed the preferred builder of the CBD’s tallest residential tower, UEM Sunrise’s landmark Aurora Melbourne Central.
Including Aurora Melbourne Central, Probuild has now secured five contracts to build residential or mixed-use developments in the Melbourne CBD or city fringe in the last few months.
A 92-level luxury residential development in the heart of the CBD, Aurora Melbourne Central is UEM Sunrise’s first development in Australia.
With 941 apartments and approximately 250 serviced apartments, the building will be the only residential development to provide direct access to Melbourne’s underground rail loop, via Melbourne Central railway station.
Residential amenities will include a full gym, swimming pool and communal areas on three levels of the building, with podium car parking spaces for 362 vehicles, 786 bikes and 18 motorcycles.
Aurora will also be home to approximately 3,097 square metres of retail space, as well as approximately 3,848 square metres of office space, with first-class shopping, entertainment and dining just an elevator ride away.
Group Managing Director Simon Gray said the project marked another significant milestone for Probuild.

Demolition on the Aurora Melbourne Central project site is scheduled to start mid-year.
