The historic neon Myer sign at Coorparoo Square in Brisbane was removed today ahead of construction starting on the site.
The sign will be restored and included in the new development.
The major mixed-use development is poised to transform the heart of Coorparoo, one of Brisbane's most historically significant blue-chip suburbs, and continues Probuild's move into Brisbane.
Comprising of three apartment buildings, a retail precinct and a 10-theatre cinema complex, Coorparoo Square is being developed by two of the nation's pre-eminent developers, Australand and Honeycombes Property Group.
Probuild is currently preparing the 1.2 hectare site on Old Cleveland Road for demolition. The iconic Myer building has stood on the parcel for decades and has been vacant for years.
