Probuild has worked with QIC Global Real Estate to significantly enhance the existing Eastland Shopping Centre in Ringwood with the introduction of David Jones and 150 exciting new tenancies, 80 of which opened 5 May.
The new shopping and retail experience includes a new town square lined with restaurants. This ambitious development also houses a new library as well as a learning and cultural centre providing important assets for the local community.
“We collaborated closely with QIC during the pre-construction phase, bringing our extensive national experience in the design and development of retail centres to maximise our client's return and enhance the customer experience,” said Probuild Group Managing Director Simon Gray.
“This expansion is approximately 40,000 square metres and has been constructed in a live operating environment and has involved the development of bespoke approaches including a secondary lattice façade and special honeycomb aluminium fins to create alight weight but heavy duty façade to meet the design intent of the architectural concepts,” said Mr Gray.
The construction features sustainable initiatives such as water storage tanks and green walls in landscaping. As one of Australia’s largest and most successful construction companies, this important project adds to Probuild’s growing portfolio of major retail projects across Australia.
